If Upwex is not the right fit
Upwex alternatives

What is Upwex?
Upwex is a Chrome extension and web dashboard for Upwork freelancers. It scores jobs from 0 to 100, generates cover letters, autofills proposals, syncs conversations to a CRM, and on its top tier bids on new jobs automatically. Plans run from $9.99 to $49 a month.
People generally leave a tool like this for one of three reasons: the price stops matching what they get out of it, they want something beyond Upwork proposals, or they decide automated bidding is not the strategy they want to run. Those point at different alternatives, so it is worth knowing which one applies to you.
Working out what you actually need instead
- 1
Name the reason you are looking
Price, scope, or strategy. They lead to genuinely different products, and picking on price alone is how people end up switching twice.
- 2
Check what you would lose
Upwex has CRM sync and auto-bidding. If either is load-bearing for you, most alternatives do not replace it.
- 3
Try before you move
Everything worth considering here has a free tier or trial. Run the same three real jobs through each.

If you are leaving on price
BidPilotPro is the cheapest credible option. Free plan with 5 credits, Pro at $20 a month or $17 billed yearly, advertised as unlimited usage. It is a Chrome extension for Upwork and Freelancer.com and it matches your past work to each job.
Ours starts at $8 a month for 40 credits, with a free plan of 5 credits a month after the trial rather than a hard stop.
Be careful comparing headline prices across credit models. Upwex Lite is $9.99 for 100 credits; ours is $8 for 40. Per credit, Upwex Lite is cheaper. The comparison only becomes meaningful once you know roughly how many proposals a month you send, and whether you need the things the cheaper plan leaves out.
If you are leaving because you need more than Upwork
This is the case we are built for, and it is worth being specific about what it means.
One profile — your skills, projects and work history — writes an Upwork proposal, a Fiverr gig inside Fiverr's 80- and 1,200-character limits, a freelance resume you can share as an unlisted link or export as a PDF, and pitches for Freelancer, PeoplePerHour, LinkedIn and cold email. Add a project once and all of them are current.
You can keep several versions of that profile as personas, so backend work and consulting work are pitched differently from the same underlying history rather than from two documents you maintain separately.
Upwex is a good Upwork tool that is only an Upwork tool. If your work is spread across platforms, that is the limit you are hitting.
If you are leaving because of the auto-bidding
Some people try automated bidding and dislike what it does to their reply rate. Others find it works. It genuinely depends on the kind of work you take.
Our position is that a proposal nobody read before it was sent tends to read that way, and that the clients worth having can tell. So we do not build auto-bidding, and every draft is meant to be edited before you send it. Nothing is submitted on your behalf, and we do not connect to your Upwork account to apply.
If that sounds like the right constraint, we are a fit. If you actually want the volume play, stay on Upwex Max — it does that properly and we would rather say so than take a subscription that lapses in a month.
What you would give up by moving to us
Two things, stated plainly.
No CRM sync. Upwex pushes Upwork conversations into Pipedrive, HubSpot and others. We do not, and if someone else in your business works that pipeline, this alone may settle it.
No automated bidding, as above, by design rather than by roadmap.
There is a third that is a matter of taste rather than capability: Upwex is extension-first, so more of the workflow happens without leaving Upwork. We have a Chrome extension too, on every plan including the free tier, which scores the job and drafts from your selected persona in the sidebar — but the profile you write from lives in a web app, and that is a different rhythm. Some people prefer it and some do not.
Questions about switching
- Is Prozilio a drop-in replacement for Upwex?
- No. It covers more platforms and adds resumes and gigs, but it has no CRM sync and no automated bidding. If you rely on either, it is not a like-for-like swap.
- Do I need the Chrome extension?
- No, but it is included on every plan including the free tier. It scores the job and drafts a proposal from your chosen persona inside Upwork; you can also work entirely in the web app.
- Can I try it without paying?
- Yes. A 14-day trial on the Full-Time plan with no card and 15 AI credits, and a free plan with 5 credits a month afterwards. The Upwork job scorer needs no account at all.
- Will my Upwex data come across?
- There is no import from Upwex. You build your profile by uploading a CV or a LinkedIn PDF, which takes a few minutes and is the same starting point either way.
- How current are the Upwex details here?
- Checked against their pricing page on 5 September 2026, and that page is linked under Sources at the foot of this one. Prices change, so confirm there before deciding.
